About Fry’s Harbor

At Fry’s, an Island Packer naturalist will be available to explain the natural and human history of the area and lead a short walk up the watershed. You may also want to bring swim or snorkel gear to take advantage of the protected cove. (Be aware there is no lifeguard on duty.) Or just enjoy the beach and beautiful view with a picnic lunch.

There are no facilities at this location and no shade. Please bring food and water for the day and adequate sun protection for your time ashore.

Access to This Area

Access to the island is via a small shore boat directly onto the beach. All visitors going to this destination must have a signed release form from The Nature Conservancy. You can print the form online or request one from the front desk when you check in.

Please Note

In cooperation with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Fry’s Harbor – SCI is being offered on the northwest coast of Santa Cruz Island. Besides a small beach, there is an old quarry and limited access up the watershed along the creek bed. The trip will also include a narrated cruise along the north shore to one of the world’s largest sea caves, the Painted Cave (weather permitting).
