FOR ISLAND PACKERS CRUISES RESERVATIONS,
CANCELLATIONS, WEATHER, GEAR & CARGO

RESERVATION POLICIES

1 to 19 Passengers

Reservations for 1-19 passengers must be paid in full at the time the reservation is made. If you are unwilling to pay for a large group, separate reservations must be made. We do not accept multiple payments on a single group reservation.

20 or More Passengers

Reservations for 20 or more passengers, requires a minimum deposit of 20% of the value of the reservation at the time the reservation is made. (Excludes K-12 Schools). A service agreement contract will be sent to you disclosing full trip and payment details. This agreement must be returned signed to confirm your reservation. All payment terms must be met. Full payment must be made two (2) weeks in advance of departure date.

Private Charters

Reservations for private charters, including harbor cruises, require a non-refundable deposit of 25% at the time the reservation is made. A service agreement contract will be sent to you disclosing full trip and payment details. This agreement must be returned signed to confirm your reservation. All payment terms must be met. Full payment must be made two (2) weeks in advance of departure date.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

1 to 19 Passengers

For reservations of 1-19 you must cancel or reduce your passenger count at least 120 hours (5 days) prior to your departure time to receive a refund. No refund will be given for those who do not show up on the day of their departure.

20 or More Passengers

Reservations of 20 more must be cancelled 30 days in advance of your departure date to receive a refund of your deposit. Cancellation of your entire reservation must be made seven (7) or more days in advance of your departure date to receive a refund of any payments in excess of your deposit. Cancellation of the entire reservation less than 7 days from your departure date will result in loss of all money paid. Reductions of passenger counts made less than two (2) weeks prior to your departure time must be 15% or less for any refunds. No refund will be given for any cancellation made less than 72 hours prior to your trip departure time.

Private Charters

The private charter 25% deposit is non refundable. Cancellation of your entire reservation must be made 14 days in advance of your departure date to receive a refund of any fees in excess of your deposit. Cancellation of the entire reservation within 14 days of your departure date will result in loss of all money paid. When catering is ordered through Island Packers, 72 hour advance notice is required to receive a refund of catering cost. No refund will be given of catering costs for passengers who do not show up for the event.

OTHER POLICIES

Weather Cancellation Policy

In case of unfavorable weather or sea conditions, Island Packers may cancel or modify departure times at 5:30 AM on the day of your trip. On the morning of your departure, after 5:30 AM, please call 805-642-1393, select option (4) and listen to the recorded message for the status of your trip. Island Packers will not call you if weather prevents us from going. Pick up times at the island can change due to weather and sea conditions. On your island departure day, please check with the ranger or at the bulletin board before hiking out for the day to verify your pick up time.

Holiday Camper & Overnight Passenger Cancellation

Camper/Overnight transport reservations for holiday time periods must be cancelled 14 days in advance to receive a refund. Passenger count reductions must be made 14 days or more in advance of your departure date to receive a refund. No refund will be given for cancellations made less than 14 day before the departure date or for passengers who do not show on the day of the trip.

Cargo Policy

Transport of cargo must be approved a minimum of 24 hours in advance. When calling for approval, please have dimensions, approximate weight and description of item available. Some cargo may not be transported due to weight, size or contents. A fee of 0.25 cents per pound will apply to all cargo and cargo will be weighed before being loaded on the vessel. Cargo must arrive one hour before boat departure time for loading. Transport of cargo is dependent on space availability.

BIOSECURITY

Over the last four decades, the National Park Service and its partners have invested over $20 million in protecting the native species of the Channel Islands through the removal of harmful, nonnative species, including rats, cats, ungulates, Argentine ants, and a variety of weed species. Starting in 2014, Channel Islands National Park, The Nature Conservancy, and the U.S. Navy developed a joint biosecurity program to prevent, detect, and respond to nonnative species introductions. Preventing the re-introduction and establishment of nonnative species is vitally important to preserving the nearly 150 endemic plant and animal species of the islands.
