Located about 1.5 -2 hours from Ventura Harbor, Cueva Valdez trips are a rare opportunity to visit a beautiful and unique cove on the northwest coast of Santa Cruz Island.
This picturesque spot features a small beach and an easily accessible shoreline sea cave, perfect for exploring.
Your day begins with a narrated cruise along the island’s rugged north shore, where, weather permitting, we’ll visit the breathtaking Painted Cave — one of the largest sea caves in the world.
Once at Cueva Valdez, an Island Packers naturalist will share fascinating insights into the area’s natural wonders and human history.
You can relax on the beach with a picnic, swim or snorkel in the protected waters (no lifeguard on duty), or simply take in the stunning scenery.
Access to the beach is by small shore boat, landing directly on the sand.
All visitors must present a signed Nature Conservancy release form at check-in. You can download and print the form ahead of time or sign digitally during the reservation process.
This is a rare opportunity to experience one of the island’s most unique and beautiful coves and perfect for nature lovers, adventurers, and those seeking a peaceful coastal escape.
