K-12 Additional Funding

Through a partnership with Terra Marine Research & Education, Inc.
Island Packers receives sponsorships for eligible classrooms to take educational
trips to the Channel Islands National Park and National Marine Sanctuary from their
“No Child Left Inside” program.

Terra Marine Research & Education, Inc.(TMRE), a 501(C)3 organization dedicated to providing marine science learning experiences for students K-12 grades

“No Child Left Inside” funding is available for up to 30 students plus one teacher. All additional students and chaperones will need to be covered by you, as will your transportation to and from the Island Packers office.

To qualify for funding, you must be:

  • Based in California
  • A formal K-12 classroom group (no camps, or after school programs)
  • Apply for a "Floating Classroom" day trip (no overnight groups)
  • Able to demonstrate financial need.

If you meet these requirements, fill out this application and submit to education@tmre.org.
Funding will be granted as eligible classes are matched with sponsors. Sponsors are not always available.
