The Destination

Cueva Valdez trips are an opportunity to visit a beautiful and unique cove on the northwest coast of Santa Cruz Island. Besides a small beach, there is an accessible sea cave right on shore.

The trip will also include a narrated cruise along the north shore to one of the world’s largest sea caves, the Painted Cave (weather permitting).

At Cueva Valdez, an Island Packer naturalist will be available to explain the natural and human history of the area. You may also want to bring swim or snorkel gear to take advantage of the fairly protected cove. (Be aware there is no lifeguard on duty.) Or just enjoy the beach and beautiful view with a picnic lunch.

Access to the island is via a small shore boat directly onto the beach. All visitors going to this destination must have a signed release form from The Nature Conservancy. You can print the form below or request one from the front desk when you sign in. A completed form at check in will speed the ticketing process along.

This trip is brought to you in cooperation with The Nature Conservancy. Learn more about the Santa Cruz Island Project by clicking the link below.
